Congratulations on…

CONGRATULATIONS ON ...

(three sources, three components of SMS – ism: New Year, February 23rd, March 8th)

On February 23rd, I received 7 SMS – okay, with congratulations. One from a colleague, one from a client, the rest from friends – lovers from various years and of varying current relevance. Briefly replying to each with "Thank you" or "Thank you very much," I didn't delete them from my phone, so I could definitely congratulate them back on March 8th.

March 8th arrived. After writing the congratulatory text, I included my colleague and client in the send list, added my boss and her deputy, and another client from a different organization, and pressed "send." The phone blinked,

showed sending percentages, and replied "sent." The congratulatory text itself vanished.

No one has congratulated me like that today!

DD, wake up! It's spring outside!

Then an indignant call: "maybe it's better to call and congratulate than to send to a list?" I brushed it off (fortunately she's married) by saying I didn't know how her husband would react to a call, and an SMS is just a courtesy and can't possibly be compromising.

Damn, what happened?! Did each one see not only the congratulatory text, but the entire list, plus their place in it, plus how they are specifically recorded in my contacts? There's no unculturedness in my contact names, it's always a first name (or first name + last name, if that first name isn't unique) plus the code word "Avtotrans." The order number in the list also means absolutely nothing, it's alphabetical.

And finally, another response brought clarity:

Thank you. .. :=) But New Year was a long time ago!

Have you already figured out what happened? Seeing the text starting with "Congratulations," I didn't read further, and it turned out to be a New Year's congratulatory text.

So what next? – you ask. Well, nothing for now. Tomorrow will come, then life will show how things stand with humor at the "Avtotrans" organization. Judging by the responses, most laughed rather than took offense, so, at least for now, we can form and send a KVN team(s) consisting of my funny and resourceful girls!
